You have no idea how much I am gonna be moaned at for this.... it could even end in divorce ---- but don't worry, I can do my own - won't cost me a penny!

Whilst in Northumbria last week, Steven and I came across a most welcome tea room - after trekking here, there and everywhere. It was a lovely tea room in the back of beyond - we were not even sure if it was open - but we went in and the lady graciously invited us to go into the tea room so in we went. At the outset there were stone flag on the floor and we were all so busy exclaiming about the delights of the place, neither Steven or I noticed the tea room had a plain green carpet - and we had muddy boots on..... ouch! We felt awful and removed our boots immediately but too late - whilst the tea was being made I was on my hands and knees gathering as many clumps of mud as I could and putting them in my pocket. Meanwhile, the dog, whose name is Dexter apparently, jumped up on Steven's lap and I took a quick pic, of which he does not approve - so just for fun and not to be taken seriously, here is Steven and Dexter ......... divorce courts here I come..........

A snap (defo) and a textured layer to hide all the signs on the walls, the lamp, the table, etc., etc.,

A lovely shot, and you are braver than I am. My hubby has forbidden me from putting shots of him on here. Moira

Don't know your hubbie of course, but find it hard to see what he'd find to object to in this great image. Mind you, once did a quick pencil sketch of my husband, which I still reckon was darned good, while he was asleep in a chair & to which he took terrible umbrage , so perhaps it's just a man thing? Smashing one of his new doggie friend at the same time! Interesting story to go along with it too.

This looks like Steven's dog... they are both happy and smiling.
Dexter is a cutie and there is no way Steven could get angry at something so lovely as this portrait.
Good for you for taking this shot.
I commend you for your "bravery" Smile

Catherine

p.s. next time Steven could pick up the mud and
you could hold the doggie Smile

It looks as though you have worked hard on this picture Sue, and it has come out as beautiful as all your pictures...if it was 'just for fun' then your 'serious' stuff will be blinding!! For someone who has always said they can't do portraits I think that you have AGAIN proved yourself a natural.....

Really gorgeous shot.

Had a go at mods, - removed the hair from the Westies nose, tightened the black coverage, added height, sharpened a little, added contrast, - and mod2 is a duo toned version.

One to be proud of for both of you.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen - and thank you for the lovely comments - I am pleased because this was literally just a "look up Steven" and then a snap - without him knowing I was going to take a pic of the two boys - Dexter is quite a character and made us giggle quite a lot. It took the sting out of the muddy bits! I hope the ladyowner forgave us - she said it was a new carpet - but if it was me, I would not have put a pale green carpet in tea room in an area known for walkers! We still could not help feeling really bad though and bought cakes we really did not want to try and make things up to her a bit!

And thank you Willie, King of the Mods, for your two wonderful versions - I like both of them but especially the toning in V2 - so thank you very much for taking the time.

And thank you too Pols ---- you say the lovliest of things x Sue
