Bramble Shoot Moth Epiblema uddmanniana
12 shot stacked image of a Bramble Shoot Moth (I had to work quickly) concentrating on the eye detail of this tiny micro moth that has a wingspan of just 15mm. V2 & 3 are other small stacks that shows the moth in it's entirety. It's a very common and widely distributed species, occupying woodland and hedgerows anywhere bramble occurs, instantly recognisable by the chocolate-brown blotch on the forewing, contrasting with a greyish ground colour. Common it maybe, but trying to get a sharp image of this tiny little fellow is another ball game and trying to do a stack was nigh on impossible, but I love a challenge.
We've a few hogs in residence and looking like they've gone into hibernation, however and this is just typical none of them have hibernated in the boxes that have cameras and I've been advised not to disturb them, so they'll be left well alone with just the odd visual check now and again to see if they're ok. Still getting visits by one or two other hardy individuals that live elsewhere, quite where I haven't as yet discovered, but they seem to know that visiting our garden means an easy meal, I've still got 2 hibernation boxes vacant and I'm hoping they'll take up residence in those before it gets really cold.......
The Wood Mice box that was made a few days ago is already being used, although the mice are very much in and out of that at the moment. I'm thinking that they're probably caching anything they can grab from it and storing it elsewhere until they get used to the fact that they're not under any threat by using it, but I'm no expert on these matters so that's just pretty much a guess, hopefully though over the next few days they'll get used to the idea and we'll be able to see them on camera for a little longer than we did last night.
Now that the clocks have gone back and it gets dark sooner we won't hopefully have to wait so long until seeing any activity. The camera's are currently on test until dark tonight as I had the system crash last night, but I've had a tinker so the system should be a little more stable tonight......He say's hopefully But if you wish to tune in the place as always to visit is Ade's Hedgehog & Garden Wildlife Cam
Hope everyone had a great weekend, regards to all as always......Ade
