On Saturday afternoon I went for a stroll around my local nature reserve seen in my previous image. With all the wind n rain we have had the leaves have almost all gone from the trees but there are some still hanging around. I went to fill the feeders at the hide there and as I was doing so noticed a little bird in the tree in front of me - a brambling! Not seen one the last few winters. They make their way over from Scandanavia for the Winter and feed off the beech mast found in the woods. Went down the hide yesterday for a few hours but the light was rubbish most of the day so tried shooting some at high iso to get some record shots. There are at least 3 of these beauties down there, lets hope they stay for all the Winter. It was great though to watch all the birds coming n going...lots of woodies, nuthatch and tits. There was Fieldfare and Redwings above me in the trees but not even some red berries could entice them down! Enjoy the week, I hear we are in for more rain Sad

An excellent shot of a little bird so hard to find these days. Interesting narrative, too.
