This would you believe is part of the hose on a fire engine, at Beaulieu again Smile This in the end of the hose that I'm told was put into a lake, pond or other convenient water source then pumped to put out said fire. If you look carefully you can see the holes in the copper fitting.

Thank you all so much for all your C&C's vry much appreciated

Thanks for taking the time to look

Hugh

Lovely tones, Hugh.
The end with the holes in was presumably a filter to prevent the pipe getting clogged up. You never know what might lie at the bottom of the village pond Smile

Beaulieu has been a great source of subjects for you, Hugh: another fine close-up study of the colour and textures in this hose connection.
