Ate Breakfast in bed. The sun was shining very brightly, the curtains were opened just a crack, I was fascinated by the effects of the light shining through the curtain, the crack, and the way it hit the tray and objects on the bed.

It's certainly different! Makes a reasonable semi-abstract, perhaps.

Slight issue here is that the sun shining through the thin curtains slightly overwhelms the rest of the photo. In the mod I've uploaded for you, I've toned this down a bit using the shadows/highlights tool in PS. I've also altered the colour temperature somewhat using the mid-grey dropper in the curves function.

See what you think. Smile

I think you've attempted to capture something which you saw at the time, but the camera just didn't capture it the way it was, mainly due to the wide tonal range and very harsh contrasty light (which is after all I suppose what attracted you..) but I guesss at the time it didn;t really look like a searchlight shining on the cup in the dark

Sorry if that sounds harsh but I think it's really a nice idea that just didn't work out. Maybe a touch of flash would have balanced out the light a bit..
