This was shot at the foot of Bridal Veil Falls - in Provo Canyon, Utah (USA), not in Yellowstone.

At the bottom of the falls there were pieces of an old tree, and I really liked the way water was running over them. I added a leaf from a tree with autumn leaves on the left of the falls, and decided to have a go at photographing it, although the weather was very bad. There was sleet and sometimes even hail, and I had to keep wiping my filter.

I also accidentally dropped my remote in the water, and had to do without from then on, because it didn't work anymore. I've had to order a new one for use at the Rowardennan Meet.

But this is one of the results, and I quite like it myself. Now let's hear what you think...

Great shot - real sense of depth to the image.

Do you cary those leaves around looking for somewhere to put them? ;o) They balance the composition perfectly.

Top drawer!

Nah, the tree with those leaves was right next to the falls. But I have actually considered putting a few in my pocket, just in case! Wink

Very nice work - the leaf adds a great spot of colour to the brown textures.

Hmmm, yes, undoubtedly true, Ron, about the leaf, but I just felt it was too dull without it.

Thanks, Angela and Ron, for your comments!

its having the forethought to contrive, that makes it a successful image, without the leaf it becomes just another nice water shot, and the flow of water is excellent, the colour makes it special and is very well positioned compositionally
