Good morning friends.
Thankyou for your interest in the Kalahari Series.
Today's upload is of the Adult Black Maned Lion found only in the Kalahari.
They are truly magnificent cats.
We gathered that these two were brothers that had formed a partnership and were lucky enough to see them on 2 seperate occasions. On this particular day they were under a thorn tree about 60 meters away from us. We know that they were still in the process of digesting a kill they had made they day before. (and no unfortunately/fortunately we had not witnessed the kill although we had noticed their bloated stomachs and it was later confirmed by the ranger that indeed thay had made a kill)
This day they had only moved about 3km away from where we had first spotted them the previous day.
Although Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park only has 2 of the "Big 5" it is the most amazing Wild Life Reserve that I have ever been to. You either love it or hate it...I loved every minute, even the heat and will definitely go back. I believe that anyone wanting to visit Africa has to experience this park.

Sublime nature, love those manes Challice. I have a very large drawing on our wall of Black maned Lion. These bring it to life ! Ron.

Great contrast between the two, one watchful, the other probably snoring his head off. I reckon this is one of your best wildlife observations.

Really wonderful shot, those brothers are some of the best shots I have seen of lions expecially the other day.
