Shot outside , black paper as background , camera on tripod ,manual exposure , 2 flashes set on manual one right and above the other left and below.
If I am correct the species is Rhinotia hemistictus or hylobius abietis

Looks like a BROWN relative to my BLACK Canada Rhino beetle. Good lighting and detail....and even eye contact. Mine may not have eyes. Interesting detail, nice perch, artistic and pleasing comp. Excellent! TG

Like the overall image to be honest, although i would have cropped slightly mor to enhance the main insct subject. Like the lighting too
