Now then…just to clarify…when I say ‘in the garden’, it’s my mum’s garden. Well, more like a rather unkempt mini jungle. Parts of it are not easily accessible but I like certain things about it…the signs of a wild ‘matured’ garden. For one, the animals – residents or daily visitors – who have bred here. The squirrels, tree shrews, garden lizards, tailorbirds and bulbuls. For another, the leaf litter and compost you find along the paths that make it look a bit like a forest floor Grin

As for the orchids, most of them are bought, some found, some given.

Speaking of which, I found these two shots on the Ixus yesterday. Taken last June. Same orchid as in the last upload but I thought you might like the view in V1 ‘cos you get to see the petal formation better.

How extraordinary, unlike any orchid that I have seen. Natural precision.

Your mum's jungle sounds delightful, as is this very unusual orchid, which you've captured beautifully. From fingers to a fan!

v2 is a lovely natural shot, but v1 is an excellent shape, almost graphic.

This is so unique and beautiful. Every climate has it's charms, even here in the cold north, although I must admit I'd rather be taking a little tour of your Mum's jungle than facing this extreme cold.

That's fantastic!
I love that perfect half circle that adds such a beautiful atmosphere to the picture.
The light is just right as well.

And well worth revisiting too if I may say so, i've never seen this unusual variety of orchid before. A real joy to view my friend especially as we are experiencing the dark days of winter and the Snowpocalypse has hit Gloucestershire!

Two wonderfully lit shots of this unusual flower Andrew, contrary to most others I'm going for V2 as my pick.
