Hi all, this is a shot taken earlier in the year, retrieved it from my 'maybe' folder as things are very quiet here on the bird front ![]()
Many thanks to those of you that took time out to view and vote on my Vixen 5 and a special thank you to Yung (dmhuynh72) for the UA on my Wren 2, really appreciated Yung

Quote: Why would this be in your "maybe" folder?![]()

'maybe' I could have done better ![]()
Geoff.
What beautiful colouring he has
maybe ......never
If I had this shot on my hard drive it would be in the 'definite' rather than the 'maybe' folder, Geoff.......can't see how you could have any doubts about it.....superb shot, immaculate detail and very natural colours and in a delightful 'pose'.
Very fine bird photography, my friend.
Ronnie.
Many thanks all for the votes and comments and thank you also for your support,
Geoff.
Beautiful colours of the Bullfinch.............love the light.![]()

"Maybe I could have done better" - goodness if I could get a shot half as good I'd be delighted! An excellent capture!

Quote: Great capture Geoff with fine detail. Mine disappeared months ago, do you still get them?
Steve
They come in now and again Steve but not so many ![]()
Geoff.
Many for popping in everyone
A cracking shot of this **** bullfinch, he's a real beauty and the detail and colours in his plumage are simply glorious. I agree with my furry friend the Tomcat this is a definitely image not a maybe!
Thanks all and a special thank you to Ronnie (stokesy) for the UA, really appreciated,
Regards,
Geoff.
Hi Shaun, lovely to see you back again and many many thanks for the UA, really appreciated my friend,
Regards,
Geoff.
Quote: the Orange breast plumage does not look the right colour to me though
Strange that the red berries look the right colour.......have put V2 up with some colour correction on the bird only especially for Brian ![]()
Geoff.
splendid colours and stunning detail. the red berries are a bonus
Beautiful colours on his "napkin" - looks like he's had his share of berries... ![]()
Super detail once again, he's a lovely little "bully"
Johanna
I've not ever seen a bullfinch in the wild Geoff. I notice the brighter plumage in v2. Is that closer to what the colour is in real life?
A particularly beautiful image of a beautiful bird.

Hi Anne, V2 is nearer to the true colour but available light seems to give different shades, some seem to be as V1 (which was taken in bright sunlight) but other shot's I have turn out a deeper red, this one is about right I would say but then again I have seen some with even deeper reds, pretty well convinced it's all down to the light because I use the same settings for each,
Regards,
Geoff.
Thanks for the clarification Geoff.
I was actually watching a documentary last night about the resurgence of wildlife in the Chernobyl area and a male bullfinch was shown as one of the birds thriving there - yes, the colour there was a deeper shade. Thanks again.
Anne
Many thanks for popping in everyone and a special thank you to Adrian (tomcat) for the UA, very much appreciated,
Geoff.
