it may be one of Britains most common moths at this time of year, but i tell you, for me,-- its well out of any comfort zone, i feel dizzy when i look through a macro. as any of my friends will tell you , i must have fallen down and accidently pressed the shutter to take this. Wink
thanks for looking, be gentle

The detail in large is wonderful , even the stem it's perched on has fabulous detail and colour, the moth itself is superbly detailed and great colour saturation.never see anything like that around here , just horrible clegs intent on sucking my life blood away

A good effort and spot as I never see these sort of things. Looking large though looks like a slight movemnet of the moth or twig that just stops it short of excellent. Still well worth a vote though Smile

thanks everyone, better response than i expected.
yes, you are totally correct Martin. - the sticky out pointy bits on its head are a little blurred, i was pushing things a bit though at 500asa f16, i expect one of the batch will be fully sharp but probably at the expense of a messy background or something. probably flash is the way to go, i havnt a clue with natural history.
not to worry. just ringing the changes a bit.
Phil
