Going back through some old files I found this one, which I always felt was let down by the background, so I decided to replace it. I did try pure white but it was just too stark, so opted for a pale duck-egg blue. V2 is the original.

I think there is still some room for improvement, so mods and critique very welcome.

A beautiful capture and I think I agree with Carol, I quite like the background in version 2 too.

I was going to upload a mod, but I think you've forgotten to click the box! Smile

A real beauty, Sandra, and well worth surfacing it and changing the background. It's beautifully composed.
You say, "I think there is still some room for improvement". The image looks a bit "washed out" to me, so I have done a modification where I simply adjusted Levels. The flower hasn't improved much, but I think it might benefit from using the Burn Brush. It doesn't matter too much, though, as long as the butterfly looks good. The Levels adjustment removed your delicate blue from the background, so I re-filled it with blue.
You missed some background in a few small areas, most significantly around the butterfly's legs, between the gaps. I filled these in, and a few other minor missed areas, and removed the white line all around the butterfly and flower, only visible when you zoom in, which was either created when sharpening, or when altering the background. It's always worth zooming in after changing the background, then you can deal with the little things that you didn't see before.
Pamela.

Good job on the background. A little more contrast helps the butterfly, and why not consider framing at an angle, as in the mod. The feelers suffered in the mod, - you could do a better job with more time.
