i dont think it distracts too much. if it was me, i might crop out the sun altogether but thats just personal taste. either way, i think this is an excellent image.

kind regards,
adam.

This is great, with interest from the sky, the silouette, the texture on the beach.

Agree with Adam here, I would crop out the sun too.

Looks familiar, is it Caswell ?

It's a super shot. If you decide to crop, I wouldn't take out all of the sun, just crop to the top of the RHS prominent cloud. That would still leave a bit of flare but would lessen the impact without disturbing the overall structure.
Click.

Those great looking rays have to eminate from somewhere and the sun is as good a place as any! Wink

Yes, I like the sun in it - it's just the round blob of lens flare at 5 o'clock on the sun that I might try to touch up.

I cropped the sun out (with the scroll bar!) and I like it both ways! Click.

I know Southerndown really well and you have made it look much more exotic than normal !- well done Mal.

More exotic than Southerndown, Mari - impossible! (I am now an unofficial member of the Southerndown tourist board!) Seriously, it's difficult to take a bad photo at this location. (though I did manage a few!)

I am definitely coming back to this area this year. Very well done Mal - but I would have taken the sun out too.
Regards Brian.

Lovely shot. I like the flare and the light on the water.
