Lovely shot.

They are beautiful birds. I saw 2 just merrily flitting around a porch the other day when I went for a walk round my neighbourhood, a lovely sight. And for me being a Brit (now living in VA), part of a totally new look on wildlife from my own country.

Yes my goal was to capture a yellow finch and red Cardinal and a good Heron shot this summer, as far as birds go, so now I just have a Heron to get. Of course I would be happy to get a Cardinal in a better setting, but its a nice close up anyway.

Cardinals have become more common here in Wisconsin, I don't know why exactly, but this year they are. I would love a nice cardinal in the snow shot also.

Great capture - it's the national bird of Ohio isn't it. At least that's where I've seen them but have never had a camera handy.
Joan.
