One from the long weekend, loved the 'RED' photo of the week and had to try one out for myself.

The main flower is well presented & a lovely colour but just a little soft on focus. I think you'd improve this image a lot if you used a clone tool in PS to get rid of the little bits of other flowers which distract from what ought to be the main focus for the eye, though it might be interesting leaving in the fern on the RH side and seeing if this works rather than cropping or cloning it immediately.

I've never tried doing a Mod on the site. Might give it a shot!

Thanks Ann,

I agree with keeping the fern - your mod looks a lot simpler and keeps the focus on the flower.

Regarding the colour correction - I was wondering why, after uploading my photo the colour changed, loosing a lot of the bright red that was diplaying on my Macbook Screen.

Will try a new version and see if I can address the issue.

Kind regards,
Rick

Really glad your approve of the Mod! I enjoyed the challenge of trying out something like this, having never done it before. Look forward to seeing what you come up with next, though you'll realise I have a real bias towards flowers!!
