Sorry to those who clicked on an earlier upload.

Back to a fruitful morning up Carlton bank now - I just found another composition I thought might be worth processing.

I'll see what you all think. Thanks

You are a master of landscapes Leigh. This is appealing .

Does look alittle wishy washy on my monitor - don't know how else to describe it. Maybe if the shadows (which are lovely) were more pronounced (darker). I just feel it needs some va va voom in the processing.

That said this is another fabulous landscape. Great composition. For a moment I thought you'd swithed Genres and were moving into twitching!

Hope you and yours have had a lovely Xmas and New Year and hope we get another day out sometime soon.

Maybe I should upgrade and get a new monitor!

Still think those shadows would be better a tad darker. None the less this is lovely.

Paul.

Leigh, you are someone who I feel takes stunning landscape images, however I'd have to agree with Paul's comments as I feel it does need more depth to the shadows to add that little bit more contrast.

I hope you don't mind.

Still give you a click though !

I cant say I agree to wishy washy, looks ok here, the sky has plenty of detail and contrast as does the wall and the landscape beyond, the snow has a nice warm cast to it, the shadows are light for shadows but I cant knock it.
It also disproves a long standing moon landing conspiracy theory of all shadows should be parallel when lit by a single light source.
The ones in this shot are clearly not.

I quite like the subtlety of this. The softness of the light around the f/g snowdrift is lovely. Whacking up the contrast or shadow depth may lose the rather dreamy feel.

Just home after an afternoon out and about. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Paul, I very much appreciate constructive criticism. I did actually increase the contrast a fair bit in the processing in the fg, but I agree that a bit more (if I can keep it natural looking) would give more feeling of depth. I know I tend to over-brighten images, (because my prints work better like that), but I will revisit this and play a little more.
Thanks and best regards, and btw if someone arranges an outing I will certainly do my best to tag along any time. Smile

Just lovely, Leigh. Feel I want to run across the snow and add some footprints! Lovely lighting and colours, works for me.

I like it just as it is Leigh. I can see that tweaking the contrast would make it different but not necessarily better.
Sounds like another meet might be an idea. Have you somewhere in mind? I might be tempted into getting another one going as I got a lot out of the last one. Drop me a pm with your thoughts.
