Still at Christkindelmarkt, I liked the reflections of the carousel on the wet paving stones. It’s just a pity the carousel was almost completely surrounded by the barriers, except for a small access point. There was no way I was going to attempt to clone them out!
No passers-by or tripods were harmed or injured in the taking of this image…
Hand-held & shot on Aperture Priority at: 1/15 sec, F5.6, 20mm, ISO 400
Looks a little better seen large + F11 if you have the time.
Single Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Elements 6, with some assistance from Topaz Adjust.
Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

I know just what you mean, I tried to take a carousel on the South Bank last Xmas but was thwarted by the 'elf and safety barriers in the same way. Drives you potty doesn't it? You've done well though here and made the most of the golden light and reflections.

Well seen - a lot of people would have looked at the carousel but entirely missed the reflection.

Very colourful. Like the reflections too. And I can see why you didn't try to clone out the barriers. It would be one hell of a task. Of course, you could always save it for a rainy day when you're stuck indoors and just have a go as a bit of a challenge - so much more fun than a jigsaw puzzle ![]()

Great colours and reflections. Glad to hear the tripods all survived![]()

great take, I dont find the barriers overly intrusive but the post on the left maybe is - having said that I may not have noticed it except you mentioned the barriers in your intro - well done on a great job
Super golden colour on the wet pavement, I also did not notice the barriers until I read about them but I notice the post on the left, but if you cropped it off you miss part of the carousel so you cannot win

That light captured on the wet pavement is light liquid gold - exposed to perfection.

You done well to get this sharp hand held, love the reflections.
