A good image which the Monochrome really pops. I would suggest straightening the horizon though, which I think would improve what is already a great image.

Colour to me always shows the shadow better hence better depth.

You have certainly captured a sense of height here. I prefer the colour version, it's more "alive".
The horizon has already been mentioned.
