Photo taken during one of my photo sessions at early morning at Valletta Malta harbor. This fisherman is always at the same place, with the cats near him ready for the fresh meal

A great find, and an alluring subject. I will email you a couple of versions, removing the rock on the left. To me it draws the eye out of the frame. The lighting on this, and the exposure is quite nice.

for me the cats waiting for their supper makes a smashing picture, but they need to be the focus of the pic, so i've cropped to emphasise them and losing the distracting rock. also your horizon is abit off dipping to the right. if you get the chance i'd zoom in on them more to get better definition of the cats.lesley

Great image, like the story too. The diagonal composition with the harbour walls in the top third really helps to make the image. Nice work.

I thought I'd try something a little different to the other mods, here I have used the HDR in photoshop to boost the detail in the rock. I also leveled out the horizon and took out the rock on the left.

Horizon does need straightening, but for me, the angler being on the right and looking right is never going to work regardless of any other mod - than a drastic crop - the portrait format crop is quite good.

The interest is the man and the cats - the scene is not very strong. The really cracking image here is a frame filler of just angler and cats - even better if he was holding a fish and the cats were all begging.
