Following on from yesterday's upload, we had a magical afternoon at the Celebration of Marriage service held at our church, St Giles' Church in Durham, as part of our 900th Anniversary celebrations. Dave and I, together with about 20 other couples renewed our vows in front of Bishop Mark Bryant of Jarrow and then the Bishop privately blessed our (Dave and I) marriage at our altar. So moving and a lovely ceremony.
Here are a few images that I managed to capture for our Parish Magazine.
V1 The celebratory Bucks Fizz afterwards!
V2 Bishop Mark arriving escorted by our two church wardens (Dave is one of them!)
V3 Bishop Mark starting the ceremony
V4 The end of the ceremony with the choir (and our vicar!) singing All You Need is Love!
V5 A couple who were married last year - there was a long story of how her ring had to be cut off and today the Bishop blessed the new one

V7 For those who may be interested, the picture on the table in the previous version of Dave and I on our wedding day in 2004!
