Male Chalkhill Blue captured last week Nr Stroud whilst out with Ed (Glostopcat). Wish I could have kept it sharp to the tip of the wings but that was the day it was - enough breeze to move everything once you had perfect focus!!
Thanks for the C&C's on my last upload - appreciated as ever.
Take care, enjoy the sunshine while it lasts,
Lou

The poor little fella is hanging on for dear life and getting buffeted by the wind, superbly captured given the conditions we faced. I remember this little guy I have a few shots of him too but not as good as this one, this was the first chalkhill we spotted at Bownham Common and he hung around for quite some time before it warmed up and he was off on his way
In answer to Lillian it is fairly easy to ascertain the sex of chalkhill blues and no rattling is needed! lol The males have touches of blue on then when their wings are closed and the females are all a light brown which makes them easy to tell apart
