We are neighbours today in the Gallery ~ ironic after I post my first butterfly shot of 2012 Grin Another great capture here of a butterfly we never see in this part of the UK.

I have never seen one of these gorgeous fellas however you have managed to take an extremely good close-up photograph which clearly highlights the beauty of this Chalkhill Blue, great natural colours, and beautiful detail.

That thistle has seen better days, Ed, unlike the pristine butterfly using it as a resting place... or as a restaurant?

The thistle has a dried out look to it anway Malc, this type is found on chalk grassland. Many thanks for the user award Sylvia, it was a most unexpected surprise and is greatly appreciated coming from such a talented wildlife photographer as yourself.

This is another very well detailed and sharp image Ed, I sometimes think some of your best images come from the little Ixus.
