John, my grandaughter`s boyfriend, wanted a picture of his Mustang which he has fitted with underbelly glowing lights. This is the last shot from Calgary before I return to Rome tomorrow morning...not in this chariot but in a flying one.
Wow! Can see you've got a background in advertising Your granddaughter's boyfriend would have been pretty thrilled with this I'd imagine.
Have a safe trip home.
Very impressive image, David. Have a good flight.
Superb ! Great composition and backdrop !
very effective image, great tones, lights and composition
Should this be in the manipulated category?
Great image all the same.
Not your usual shot, David, but a cracking one nonetheless! Until I read your description I thought you'd produced that red glow in PS. The background is very fitting, and altogether it looks like a top class advertising shot.
Hi Grant and thank you for your comment...don`t know about the manipulated category since, if you think of Photoshop as a personal darkroom in your desktop, then all I`ve done is graded different areas to get different depths and also matted together two shots taken on a tripod of the car early in the evening and later at night. I`m not at all sure that what we call manipulation nowadays is only called that because we do it on a computer whereas before it was under a projector in a darkroom. If you consider that what I`ve done is manipulation that`s fine by me...I don`t try to hide it. I just do it to try and get an image that looks better. For me it`a picture of a car no matter how the end result was achieved. Oh and by the way, the red glow beneath the car was real and not added by me...
Love this shot. I've done quite a few cars, never anything this striking though. Love it!
Hello David, such a brilliant shot full of impact which grabs the eye perfectly...good background and a must composition for the advertising world. Impressive down to the last pixel. Have a good weekend.
The city makes a striking backdrop, nice use of the underlighting.
man this is one awsome shot... as if it was directly from a computer racing game... congrats on EC
WOW ! this is fantastic love the coloured glowing lights you've captured them nicly. I bet he was thrilled with the result. Well done. Denise x
Excellent, the red glow emanting from the car givimg the image a slightly surreal feel, great backdrop for this, congrats on the Ec
WOW// .... what more can i say .....
Very well executed
Stunning David, a real pleasure to view, your grandaughters boyfriend must be so pleased.
Superb in every way.
agree with Jim, look like top class advertising shot.
Yessss! Congratulations on the EC David
Superb David, congratulations on a well deserved EC.
Excellent, excellent! I like the light, composition, background and just about everything else in this superb shot.
Not exactly my cup of tea, David, but technically, very very good work and well deserving of the EC. Congratulations.
Hi Lydia, it`s not exactly my cup of tea either but when grandaughter asks we obey...! I`ve have many other pictures that I`d rather had won an EC...no accounting for taste. Each to their own!
Absolutely wonderful. Excellent shot, and well deserving of an EC. Congratulations!
Very slick and stylish. I agree with Lydia (and with you, especially regarding the lack of EC's on some of your shots) but it still stands out a mile for the pure quality
Excellent shot, Congratulations on a EC Award, Superb.
Just cruising the EC page and found this!!! Fantastic & congrats too!
It's a bit 'teenage boys toys', but a very professional and well produced image.
Great image and well manipulated. Click!
Lovely, I actually love car pics, this is great!! You are pretty much an "all rounder" photographically, lucky..
Well done so much
great looking image- the exposure is perfect and makes for a wondeful looking image fit for a poster size on a wall - definitely compliments the car very well.
i need to go to the states with my camera - the backdrops are far better than here in the UK =)
congratulations on the EC and keep up the great work
peter "morpyre" turner
I was looking at this shot for a minute and then suddenly realized "Hey, that's Calgary!". I'm not a big fan of those under car lights at all but as far a photograph goes, this is fabulous. Very well done. Where did you take this shot from? Up near the zoo?
p.s. Morpyre - Calgary's not in the USA!
funky. excellent exposure.
Works well I think and a very kewl shot.
Congrat's also on the EC.
superb photo. composition magnificent, It would look great for the film gone in 60 seconds, or fast and the furious.
I bet he was delighted - this shot showcases your versatile and not inconsiderable talent ... well done, as always.
