Hi everyone, if you are in the UK stay safe today we are in for a fair old weather battering.
Thanks for your comments on Film Title yesterday, they made me smile! Today we are back at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation in Kent. This is one of the handsome cheetahs there - Pepo.
Cheetahs are listed as vulnerable and it is estimated that there are 10,000 remaining in the wild (IUCN survey 2008) with the largest population (3,000) being found in Namibia.
Cheetahs (Acinonyx jubatus jubatus) are smaller than the other big cats, measuring on average 4 feet in body length with 28 inch tails and weighing around 80 – 140 lbs, that's the cheetah, not the tail!!.
They have spotted coats, small head and ears and a distinctive "tear drop" marking from the corner of their eye down the side of their faces.
Cheetah can reach speeds of 70 mph and are the worlds fastest land animal. They can accelerate from 0 – 40 mph within 3 strides. This is useful to catching their prey, fast animals like gazelles, wildebeest calves, impalas and smaller hoofed animals. They can only maintain this speed over distances of 400 – 600 yards.
Many thanks for looking today available LARGE and Mods are on.
V2 is converted from Adobe RGB to sRGB profile.
Have a good weekend.

Quote: Nice image, I love big cats and must pay this place a visit some day. Regards Steve.
Steve, thanks so much for the mod, I really like it ...don't quite know what's going on with my compuer - it's couple of months old. The orginal image looked more like your mod in PS but by the time it's uploaded to epz the colours looks muted! More technical jiggery pokery needed I think!

Excellent capture - And yes as sherring says i also must take a visit to the WHF one day also
The browser you use affects how you see the colour when viewing EPZ.
The latest Firefox is the only colour managed browser, which will show the colours accurately, - no other browser does colour management, - so if your using something else, try it and see the difference.
Loaded a mod with more eye detail by reducung shadows, increased sat, cropped a small amount from the left.
Regards
Willie
