Great shot Mike, the subdued lighting has helped to bring out the texture and colour of the rhino hide.

Regards
Terry.

Lovely shot Mike. Patience is the key. But knowing you, you'd have been happy to just sit and chat!

I appreciate you didn't have much time to get this shot and I like the tight composition, I think you could have gone even tighter and removed all traces of the background. You've got the head nice and sharp from ears to snout, I feel it's spoilt a bit by the soft silhouette. A tighter composition would remove that distraction. But that's just my opinion!

Thanks for the great comments Guys, appreciated :o)

I didn't see many of the animals you others have posted Pete, but I guess between us we covered a fair chunk of them.

You know me too well Edward...spent most of the day chatting & didn't get to meet half the people who attended the meet....next time though.......

I played around with the crop but settled on this not so tight version as I thought the space around the beast added a feeling of his size & strength. It's amazing what images you can get out of just one frame ;o)
Appreciate your thoughts!

All the best,
Mike

Yep - you are right about the size & strength. Made me look at this in a total different way. Amazing how many ways you can see a single shot.
