i would like it if someone could tell me how i can improve upon this photo? is it interesting or stupid? i dont like it when people are too nice because i dont learn from nice. all critiques are welcome for me. if you think its ugly say so but tell me why you think so and tell me how it could look better in your opinion.. thanks a lot

Crop some of the top and bottom to concentrate more on the interesting detail. This is otherwise a fine image.

I agree with 8Mfps but I do like the top part which I originally thought was shadow from a building on the opposite side of the road! Clever graffiti. Would be a shame to lose but it would look better without.

I'd also add a little rotation just to level the image up a little and remove the doorstep on the far left.....

I really wasn't sure about this one so I copied it and worked on it. I think there is too much going on in your image so that you don't know what you are supposed to be looking at and it needs paring down. In my version I changed it to black and white rather than sepia and I think it gave it more impact. I also cropped it to remove the man and the manhole cover and corrected perpendiculars, then created a very simple frame to give it more impact IMHO. If you had enabled modifications I could have posted it but if you want my version just message me with your e-mail address and I'll send it them delete your e-mail address immediately.

Agreed with the fist comment. A little cropping would improve this shot vastly. Great street capture though.
