As I said earlier, prior to my visit to the Public Gardens I was at Point Pleasant Park, my first since Hurricane Juan devastated that area in September 2003. It's one thing to read about over 3/4 of the trees in the park being destroyed, but really devastating to see it, and that came after 2,000 trees in the park had been felled to try and prevent the spread of the brown spruce longhorn beetle, which had been discovered in the park in 2000. If you are interested in learning more you can get it if you Google 'Point Pleasant Park' and go to Wikipedia, there's a very good pair of photos there showing a section of the park before and after Juan.
I cannot show you any before shots but have decided to start on a lighter note with this friendly wee fellow!
Many thanks for kind remarks and votes on Halifax Public Gardens 4, very much appreciated.
