A Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) just about to take off from it's New Zealand Flax(Phormium tenax) seedpod perch. Taken in the garden last Sunday against the red foliage of an acer shrub.
Thank you all so much for your C&Cs on yesterday's upload, with a special thank you to Gary (gary_d), Ed(Glostopcat) and Terry(TerryL) for their User Awards . All very much appreciated and valued

Beautiful image in all aspects!
excellent timing, gorgeous bokeh.
Timed to perfection, Sylvia: what a superb capture.
Not often I comment on bird images, but this is something special. Excellent piece of work.
I could easily make this three in a row Sylvia but I had better share them out a bit. - gary
Great timing and superb background.
Good to see the Acer producing the goods
Brilliant timing to catch this bluetit about to take off, you've really surpassed yourself here
Great sharp shot and brilliant timing
No wonder Dave's given you a GEA - glorious image.
What a capture - shows just how delicate those wings are as you can see a wing through the feathers of the other. A super shot!
Great image Sylvia. With the "fire like" Acer in the background and the "charred" flax perch, it looks at though he's fleeing from a fire !! :
Stunning work, yet again Sylvia.
