.....not much light for photography these days---perhaps after the storm blows itself away---meantime--this is when I wish I had a light box

This was taken in my studio one day when we had too much light (last week??)-- pulled the curtains shut--and practiced some selective focusing--- Note: an attempt to focus on the center of the flower thru the petals. An exercise in camera control!

Centre nice and sharp and subtle colours, at f8 most of the flower is in focus, the further from the subject, the more the depth of field increases on a macro lens, get in close and Depth of Field in miniscule, so to focus on the centre only from this distance you could have opened up the lens to f4 or larger.

Regards

Trev.

I like your approach, Jenn. The sharp focus center with the petals slightly soft makes for a very pleasing image.

I must have shut down my computer before you uploaded last night Jenn - just got to this now after perusing the gallery.

Interesting how we both have images where we have attempted to focus on the center of the flower - seems like that's where the focal point should be.

An exercise in control that has worked well. I love the soft pink on the petals of these.

Very beautiful, you made these humble daisies shine.
And the selective focus worked.
Didn't get the bit about the camera control... I only know to do this by hand with the diaphragm ring on the lens.
