Taken at Drayton Manor a while ago. My sister, brother in law and nephew and a chubby bloke with a big belly and white beard Grin

Perfectly good family record. The standard internal compact processing has given a good general quality with tone in whites but rather dark shadows. You could lift this with the dodge tool, but I would switch on the compact flash at the time of taking. The burst of light can work wonders and, as digital is free, why not shoot one without flash and one with.

See my mod.

Hi Kathryn,
A typical Christmassy family shot. The kind that your nephew will hate you for in a few years time!
Paul's pretty much summed it up and his mod. is good. I achieved a similar result using the fill-in light tool in Lightroom although I think Paul's method would be easier.
The only fault I can really see here is that you've chopped your nephew's foot off. If this is cropped from that direction, perhaps you could crop it back on?
Bren.
