It is sponsored by a number of local businesses and collections and run by a team of volunteers. As well as a Christmas Dinner there is entertainment, music and general jollity three afternoons in a row; it is attended by local celebrities and reported on the local telly.
With the 2014 Prudhoe Calendar in mind we were in attendance this year. While Moira took some reportage pictures of the opening speeches I set up my tripod (yes, I rescued it from the car boot and dusted it down specially for its annual outing) to take a general photograph of the entire room. Of course the town's mayor wandered across the frame, so I included him as well. The Reserved sign in the foreground was his place by right of office; next year he will be old enough to qualify by right of age. We both qualify already!
The calendar will include the colour version with all the gaudiness proper to the working men's club where the Treat is held. The mono version is specially for you!
A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS AND A FULFILLING NEW YEAR TO ALL AT EPZ, STAFF AND MEMBERS ALIKE.
I shall ensure a few days of Peace and Goodwill by not uploading again until Saturday ![]()

This is a happy photo, Bill. I just can't help noticing the "reserved" sign on the front table though....
We've just started our day "over here", but I guess you, Moira and family will soon be into the festivities and some of the "good stuff" that comes with it. Enjoy, and have a blessed season.
Anne
I LOVE the concept of this event and of course I LOVE this capture of it, Bill.
I can't remember if you told me Prudhoe is in Northumberland but it suddenly made me go, "Hey, my grandpa was from Northumberland!" He's loooooong since passed but my nan is still around. She's Scottish and lives in Sheffield. Turned 96 on the 1st of May earlier this year.
Merry Christmas to you and Moira ![]()
