Remember yesterday I said 10 minutes later it rained like I'd never seen it rain before? This was after 9 minutes & 50 seconds...

The small church of St. Lawrence, Wynford Eagle, Dorset.

It suffered terrible skewed verticals due to wide angle distortion, I couldn't back off any further due to a large wall behind me, so a good deal of faffing about in PS was required to sort them.

Kris.

Does it still look like it's been shunted from behind though?

Reckon it would have been best to have kept it off the bottom third on a wide.

A real moody shot, the dark clouds suit the subject - nice one.

Love the light on the church and the dark background.

Really nice picture. Bags of atmosphere, you really caught the light well for the church.

Very atmospheric, great colours and good picture.

With the angry cloud swallowing the church........ looks like some one's about to pay a visit. Great shot.

cheers all. Smile

Technically you're dead right Keith but I quite like the effect, gives it a slightly surreal look I reckon, which may have been what I was after. Wink

I may post a real, 'in yer face' version tomorrow. Smile

what do I know?Wink

Lol - a damn site more than me I'll wager. Smile

Cheers for the RC folks.

Kris.

What you do, is shoot the middle part so that the church and stone is right int he middle of the frame. That will make the verticals vertical. Then take one above and below and stitch them. This is well layed out and that sky is awesome!

You could try PTLens for correcting distortions - might be a bit more "natural" Wink
Like the comp and clouds, but there's something odd with the gravestone and it's lines!

My kind of shot.

Did you do a fair bit of dodging on the church? It looks fine to me but I'm just trying to work out how you got it so bright.

Cheers for the comments and advice. Smile

A smidge of dodging Ian but I also masked off the foreground / church and used a touch of the old 'curves mid tones punch' trick. Saying that, it was pretty brightly lit which was exacerbated by the dark clouds behind.
