A view of the market place at Cirencester, Glos taken yesterday lunchtime on market day, whilst working in the town. Cirencester is a bustling market town which is known as capital of the Cotswolds. In Roman times it was second only to London in terms of importance. History, architecture, arts and crafts combine to make it one of England's most notable small towns. This shot shows the regular Monday market and the cathedral like parish church or abbey which is the finest of the Cotswold "wool" churches, topped by magnificent 15th century tower.
