This place used a waterwheel to pump water from the River Avon to the Kennet and Avon Canal above.

Thanks John. Yes it is a very tranquil spot most of the time, a place I used to go fishing as a lad over 40 years ago. However, between the pumping station and the white house to the left, there is a double track main railway line which breaks the silence on a regular basis. Still a lovely spot though!
