This image was also taken at our friend's open garden event, this was such a beautiful clematis - maybe someone knows the name of it? The bloom was about the size of a saucer! I have darkened the background to show the bloom to full effect but I did not want a completely black background, I wanted some sign of the leaves surrounding it.

And you must be very posh if you use saucers ?
And I bet you are so posh,you do not pour the spillage in the saucer back into your cup !!

Beautiful image Carol.
It is good to have hint of background leaves but
always hard to balance.your vignette helps to achieve
the focus being on the lovely clematis.

Yes that's a beautiful bloom so well taken
and presented.
I really like the hint of foliage and darker surround
showing off the mauve flower to its best.
