A straightforward title, and no legend or old wives' tale to go with it eitherSad. Unless anyone knows different? The only one I have found is to "Put their heads in the sun and their feet in the shade", but this has been proved to be a myth.
This isn't mine, but my neighbour's clematis that trailed over my fence. I hope I have the name right.
As you all probably know, it's a vigorous climbing vine with small rosy pink flowers with yellow anthers and bronze-tinted foliage.

This flower series seems to be going on foreverTongue !
Thankyou so much for your continued support, votes and comments, which I thoroughly enjoy.
Pamela.

Montana is such a vigorous climber and readily takes over, but it is also a beautiful variety of clematis as you have shown in tis beautiful shot, and so beautifully presented: the pink EPZ b/g colour works so well too for this image, Pamela.

Yes,I do know different Pamela.
It is named after the artist Rubens, who liked to paint well proportioned women.
He liked his models heads facing towards the sun,and their feet in the shade.
Everything in between did not matter what way it was facing,as long as he got it to fit into his canvas !!
Hope this helps.
Good shot.
Mick.

I wonder how many stems you looked at before you decided this was the one! Perfect composition and detail. When I lived in London a neighbour had one which grew across the back of three gardens. I love to see them flowering in late spring.
