Hey, people…long time no see. I hope everyone’s well.
This shot is for Necia who asked me whether I’d got any cloud shots when I’d told her how there’s been LOADS of clouds recently. I’d composed this shot and heard something from behind. It was this cement mixer. I turned back, recomposed the shot and waited till it got into the frame
Hope you like the clouds, Neeks.
As for Vs 2-4 (taken by my mum), here’s the story: En route to picking up the parents from a medical appointment, I became the filling in a 3-car sandwich. The car in front had jammed on his brakes. I jammed on mine and stopped short. Unfortunately the car behind ploughed into me…not only knocking the sunglasses off my face but sending me right into the front car.
All in all, though, it was a good day. That may sound strange but here are the facts:
(A), my parents weren’t in the car with me. (B), no one was injured. (C), it wasn’t raining (making it easy to get out and exchange driver details) and (D), the car was driveable afterwards so I could go pick up the parents.
So why the tow truck in V4 if the car was driveable? Everything was fine until a few minutes from the house. The temp gauge went up bit by bit, even after I turned off the aircon. Just as I parked the car in front of the house, some steam appeared. Obviously the radiator was hit.
But hey…going back to Points (A) – (D)…sing it with me, people: “Always look on…the bright…side of life”…*and then the whistling* ![]()
Drive safe, all.
A.

V1 - fabulous cumulus clouds (identified yesterday for me by a friend who used to work in the Met Office).
V2 - V4 - ouch!
Moira
Firstly, can I say that V1 is a superb composition, it works well in mono and those clouds are wonderful.
As for the rest, well "ouch" indeed! At least no-one was injured and your words made me smile (the bright side of life indeed!). I hope you can it fixed, and get back on the road soon.

"Some things in life are bad, they can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble give a whistle.
This will help things turn out for the best."
Great clouds. Ooops to the rest.
If we'd had such bright clouds so high up this afternoon I should have been very happy ![]()
I once had a car radiator boil over and scald my feet. Fortunately an ambulance was stuck in the traffic jam that had caused all my woes........
Far safer to have the car towed away!
Regards
Bill
A fine view of the highway Andrew, those cloud formations are fabulous. It looks like you had a lucky escape
Great to see you uploading and as you say a pretty good result all round considering! Love the clouds in V1, the image has a timeless quality which I really enjoy. Mind you what a wonderfully clear road! The M25 which circles London is known a the worlds biggest car park, as quite often after a minor shunt it can grind to a standstill with bumper to bumper vehicles! ![]()

Thankful too that your parents are alright as well..
Vehicles can always be fixed or replaced as look as you are alright that is all that matters...
