Chaguaramo at the entrance of a mall (Centro Lido) in Caracas.
Cha-goo-a-ra-mo should be named Caracas' tree.

I wonder how this would look in mono Smile

I tried a B&W conversion, Marian, but I won't upload it because I think it's much better in colour. I personally find the colour just a bit too intense, in the green anyway, but I think it's a great shot all the same, and the composition is superb! The distortions in the glass are wonderful. Thanks Alan!
I only increased the contrast. The light was very intense as it was at sunset. I am glad you liked the composition, I think using the grid on the screen has been doing wonders to my composition skills. I actually saw the black background and worked around it.

I remember when I came home to visit, during my time in Grad School in the US, how the colors stunned me. I realized how green are the bamboo spots on the mountain. I must take pictures of my beloved mountain...You will love it.

Picked this from the gallery straight away as yours, Marian.
I think this is good and quite intense.
I wonder if it would work in pastel colours?

It's the vibrant colours which make this image hit you between the eyes!
I believe it is good to have one strong colour and with a lighter tone but these two equally
rich colours please and delight my eye.
Oops forgot to say I love the tree!

I agree with you, however I think the black background helps in balancing the image.

Those are the colors in the tropics F.G. I know the green is right because the blue is the right tone on that mall. I only increased the contrast because it was overexposed. I didn't know what to do with all the shine coming from the sunset.

I have no idea, the only pastel colors here are artificial...Smile I don't use PS or any other photo editor but Picasa.

I wouldn't have expected any other comment from the "colour man"! I thought of you and Colleen yesterday when I listen to Miriam Makeba singing Pata-Pata on my mp3 player. I love that song of my childhood! I dance it like crazy!
