I took this last night. i got bored so i stated doing colourful makeup and decided to take a photo of it with my macro lense. i also wanted to get the colourful makeup in but it was blurred because the eyelashes were in focus. i found it really hard to get it and only kept getting the eyelashes, does anyone know how i could get both eyelashes and makeup in focus or is it because its a macro lense i can get the eyelashes? sorry for the rant!
Bronnie.

Hi Bronwen,
Great idea. I see that you used a wide aperture for the shot - that will give a small depth of field. Try a small aperture f16 (or smaller) which will hopefully give you the depth of field you need to have the eyelashes and makeup in focus.
Experimenting with the settings is the best way to learn in my humble opinion.
Best of luck.
Regards, Ian.
In my opinion it looks amazing as it is but it I can see what you mean wanting to focus on the colour!
It might look even better if you focus on the eye itself with the colour unfocused and the black eyelashes around it making the centre of the image the eye!
