Not expecting this to be the most popular wildlife shot, but the pose of this 4inch long Common Slug (Limax) just reminded me of a WW2 tank! V2 clearly shows the hole through which these creatures breathe.
My thanks to all of you who took the time to critique my last image and submitted great mods. A lot of very helpful advice, much appreciated ![]()

Yea, you have me reaching for my slug pellets, Sylvia: I suppose they eat up some pests but they don't restrict themselves to that, more's the pity.
But what excellent shots you have managed here, with V 2 perhaps the more interesting for the reasons you give.
Ronnie.
my hedgehog would appreciate your slug but have to say its a great shot

Don't worry, Ronnie - this one was taken down in the fields, slithering across some decking near my hide - far, far away from any gardens! I expect it will have been enjoyed by some ravenous bird by now
The little swine in our garden almost demolished my sweet pea plants in one night - just managed to rescue them with slug pellets and they are fine now.
Sylvia
Absolutely SUPERB Sylvia, both in detail and clarity
Excellent work !!
I've never seen one from this pov and didn't know they were striped on the underside. A superb well detailed pair of close-up's.

Quote: Love the p-o-v Sylvia.
Am I correct in saying that either the blacks or the browns, not sure which, don't' do any garden damage?
Adrian
I have never heard that, Adrian, but then I am far from being knowledgeable about slugs - LOL - I am sure one of our gardening fraternity will come up with an answer though ![]()
Incidentally - useful tip I have heard for those of you who want to attract slugs and snails (for whatever reason!) - I am told that if you scatter sugar around in a particular area, you will attract dozens!!!!! I expect the birds would really appreciate that !
Sylvia
Superb detail here Sylvia, love the pov, quality image,
Geoff.
not one we see very often on here but a good image of this slithery creature
