Managed to capture the Jay with monkey nuts from Asda, he loves 'em. Taken in Golden Acre Park at the weekend and even used my monopod.

Well timed shot but IMHO you have lost a lot of detail (blown highlights) particularly on the head of the bird because it is over exposed. (not easy to ask the bird to wait while you make adjustments as I know from my own experience.) I'm no expert, just pointing out this out so that you may prepare a little different when faced with this situation again. My comment is made with all respects to your self and your camera skills. (sorry).
