Hi,
I shall agree with the above comments, very good portrait.
The left window at the background can be removed, by slightly trimming the left side of the picture.
The mysterious object that looks like vase should stay in the frame, neither that nor the woodwork behind his beard nearer to the window help us to explain the story of this man, but that adds to the mystery. Well done.
