Taken just before the wave surge from the fast ferry (Yes I've seen the warning signs!!!) came and tried to swallow, me, camera and tripod in one tidal swoop!
Thanks to Fee (feephoto) for managing to yell out just as I was about to take a shot (kneeling, eye to angle finder) of the interesting wave patterns. DOH!
Using a Benbo trekker meant the camera was about a foot off the ground. The wave was about 2 and a half feet tall. You do the math.
Petra (Petra16) I now sympathise!!
Camera and lens survived, shoes still wet, more than 24 hours on!
Oh yeah, this is one of a handful of concrete boats used during the built up of naval arms and supplies during World War 2. Don't know much else about them, assume they were made up as dummy craft for deception purposes.
ISO 100, 1/8sec, f/22, water cold.

Yeah Bob, I think you may need to make a "special anouncement" one evening - something about, danger, water, wet camera!
