No need for alarm, not the type of Forest Fire that occurs occasionally around this time of year.

The Conservators of Ashdown Forest have engaged contractors to clear scrubland and these controlled fires, I guess, are the best way of disposing of it.

The aim is to return sections of the Forest back to gorse and open heath.

Needless to say I had no idea this was taking place and stumbled across it on an afternoon walk.
