I had the chance to photograph this male kestrel at the ICBP this week, but it was so sunny, I had to put him in the shade. Then he was silhouetted and I had to use a blip of fill-in flash. I hate doing that as I don't really get flash but I liked the way it balanced the colours against the bright countryside. Apologies for those who saw the first version of this - I have recropped. I hope it looks better

great kestrel picture - took me years to get the one that nest behind the house properly.
Just such a beauty - love all the muted colors in the background which highlight the lovely details in the kestrel..Nicely done..Jo
