Location: Chapelton Braes, Glenlivet, Scotland.

I saw this little copse of trees clustered together below the shadow of a hill near Chapelton in Glenlivet whilst on assignment there. I realised that there was a superb sky building with lines of cloud radiating from an imaginary point. So I opted to make that imaginary point the little orange pine needled copse of trees which offered a delicate contrasting hue amongst all the greenery. Coincidentally I realised with a smile on my face and great satisfaction, the delicious textural echo of the sky in the foreground grasses. What a find it proved to be.

This puts me in mind of that Tuscan cypress grove outside St. Quirico that everyone photographs... Smile

Nice find, Ian.

The sky makes all the difference to this image Ian, been there a couple of times and the sky really does have to be good to give life to this fairly flat area, or maybe I was just unlucky.
Beautiful detail in the fg and the trees give focus to the whole picture.

All the very best
Dougie
