Starting to run out of non-butterfly subjects now! This is a quite nice grasshopper that for some reason decided to pose nicely for quite some time on a rock in the grounds of one of the places we stayed at. Don't know the species unfortunately.

New 70D now acquired since the demise of the 50D. Now need to suss where they've moved all the commands/buttons to!

Methinks it is an Oedipode soufrée or Oedaleus decorus http://lejardindelucie.blogspot.fr/2010/08/oedaleus-decorus-oedipode-soufree.htm...
It adapts to its environement and as I have taken them before I had the same struggle Smile

great shot.
