Bit of a grab shot really, was walking to a particular spot and saw these tufts of cotton grass being highlighted by the setting sun.
Got down low and close but no tripod so no real depth of field.
Anyway, given the conditions (strong wind) this was about the best I managed.

All comments welcome.

The cotton takes this from another good landscape to something pretty special. Nice timeless feel to it. Smile

An exceptionally well controlled exposure.

Did you spot meter for this and use a grad at all?

Michael.

Thanks Smile
Michael, I used 5 stops of grad on this to try and hold back the sun, I used matrix metering but underexposed by a couple of stops and took a few exposures at different settings.
This frame was the best, ISO200, 1/30th at f9, focal length 10mm.
Hope this helps
Rob
