When we set off up to Skye just over a week ago, the temperatures were the lowest we had all week. Minus 4 as we left Blackpool. and as you can see, a tad chilly at Lochan na-h Achlaise, Rannoch Moor.

Nice sweeping line of rocks leading towards that bit of light on the mountains and great texture in the foreground ice.

Thanks Saeid, Paul and John. Smile

I had a bit of fun taking this... camera was virtually on the ground, and the tripod was wedged by a boulder behind me, as it kept skating on the ice!! Grin

The ice patterns in and around the protruding boulders make for an interesting f/g to this winter view across the Moor, Jeanie.
Fine fore to b/g detail at f/16.0
Ronnie.

You have captured the essence of early spring, and yet shown us its coldness and power.

You know what a big fan I am of ice Jeanie and here you have lots of good FG interest and the rocks lead across the water very effectively to those lovely patches of sun on the far shore.

I really like the sharp angular lines/cracks in the ice they give the image a very 'different' almost abstract quality.
Brilliant Jeanie,
Derek
