Top shot, great colour, wonderful capture of mist. Well done indeed, a beauty.
Lovely shot Julie. It certainly does look dark and nasty in there.
Ian.
Fantastic atmosphere, one of the best I've seen so far....so dark and mysterious ;-p

Hi Julie..This is a real stunner (Very eiree). Managed to have a good browse through your portfolio earlier. You have some fantastic images and I would say they have been getting better and better as you have progressed. This is another one to be proud of..
Steve B!
Very eerie (grabs at hair standing on end!) - yet very atmospheric. The tones are well suited to this image - the eye follows through to the back. works well. like the frame too.
Simply stunning...!!!
What more can I say.
Cheers,
Hudson

Hello Julie, you have a lovely scene here with great depth as the light fades into the mist...the clarity of your work is outstanding. Great camera work and impressive portfolio.
Doug.
How!? How do you do this Julie?!!!
Frustrated of Bracknell.

LOL,thanks Mike.usually in a shot like this i pick out a tree and focus on that, always underexpose or should i say bracket heavily,no filter with this one tho, then it's just sharpen, auto levels, hue /saturation,sometimes neat image helps to take out any noise, you can download that from their website for free,it's a good thing to have.
thanks for your very kind comment
julie
Thanks Ali

Hi Paul,This was quite a hard shot to get as there was so much mist,it was pouring down with rain and quite dark. All my work is handheld as i very rarely use a tripod. This was taken from on a small banking with the trees down below.I used one tree for the focus and took as many as i could, bracketing heavily, and using different positions.
just looked thru the info for you.
exposure:1/20 sec
shutter speed:1/20 sec
exposure program:manual
f.stop:f8
Aperture value:f8
iso speed ratings:200.
This was darkened a little using selective colour(neutrals)>unsharp mask>hue/saturation for the colour tones. Then neat image just to take out any noise.
Looking foward to seeing some of your work too:o)
julie

How I missed this one, I don't know. I was just an EPZ embryo when you uploaded this so I guess I have an excuse! I'd like to do this in some of the local redwood forests. Now I have a new goal!
Patrick
Dont know how I missed this, purely breathtaking image. Weldone

Those forest locations can be really creepy at dark or foggy times. Great image that captures the creepiness very well. Nick.

Just recognised this photo in the Ephotozine Best of gallery and it seems that I left a comment but forgot to vote, so here's my vote, over 4 years late lol.
Very sorry Julie, I haven't a clue how that happened.
This is one of the best photos on EPZ.
Congratulations.
Geoff.

Stunning shot ![]()
Very atmospheric of course, but the individual branches that you have emphasised bring an extra beauty to it - congratulations on its awards
